I’m going to open the blog up to responsible home defense weapons discussion. Defending one’s home and person by natural right is given by God. But since persecution of traditional Christian values by those sitting in government is on the upswing these days please keep any discussion here within the “legal” aspect of weaponry, especially concerning firearms. Any out of line posts will be deleted, pronto. That being said — in my opinion the best home defense firearm, if you only had to choose one, is a 12 gauge shotgun. A pump action, holding multiple rounds will really do the job. But for complete novices, you can purchase a single shot 12 gauge with a “breakdown” barrel that is simple to operate and no chance of jamming. Keep the butt tight against your shoulder when firing, as a loose hold away from the shoulder will result in a mighty kick that may leave a bruise. After a few rounds a novice will get used to the kick and whopping boom of a 12 gauge shotgun. The more you practice, the easier it gets. It’s well worth the investment to obtain one. Anybody having a preference to the type of 12 gauge shells best suited for home defense, let’s hear what you suggest.
October 12th, 2009 at 2:41 pm Whatever you get, for home or personal defense, I’d go out of my way to get as much ammo as I could. Ammo will be ONE of a number of goods that would be a highly valuable commodity to use for barter WHEN TSHTF. While you can reload any centerfire caliber with the right equipment and components, rimfires are a complete ‘nother story. I’d load up (pun intended) with as much 22LR as I could. Get a few 5000 round cases, if you can find any! As for centerfire calibers, stick with those most common, 38/357, 9mm, 40S&W, 44RemMag, 45ACP, 223Rem, 308Win, 12 Gauge slugs and buckshot, etc. will be most in demand. Guns in uncommon calibers will become useless, except as a bluff, the moment you run out of, and can no longer get, any ammo (good luck with that 30-40 Craig and 16 Gauge shotgun, “good deals” on obscure calibers are not always as good as they might first appear to be). February 11th, 2010 at 9:28 pm An ar-15 is an easy caliber to locate and civilian ammo will also work. Military ammunition is cheap and easy to load when its fired.With an adapter it will fire common.22 ammunition as well. The .22 is very reliable and easy to shoot. Its accuracy is legendary for small game and pests like coyotes, fox etc. A.357 also fires cheaper .38 rounds. Not everything needs a Colt or S/W NAME AND RUGER JUST PLAIN BUILDS A NICE GUN AS WELL AS REMINGTON.

If you have no faith then you have no worry because they won’t come for you, so you need no gun. April 13th, 2010 at 4:54 pm Hello Anti-antichrist, There are TWO swords in the verse Rev.13:10 that you cite. Who is wielding the second sword for God’s purpose? You need to check out Psalm 149:5 - 9. (plus the entire Scriptural history of the Saxon race as recorded in The Word) Our Savior King COMMANDS us to be armed (Luke 22:36)even if you must sell the shirt off your back to do it.
